Career Tips

Your Resume
The first step in a successful job search is to compose or update your resume. Your resume is the sales tool you will need to get your foot in the door for an interview. See Resume Tips for a helpful guideline on how to create or update your resume.

The Interview
See our Interview Preparation Guide for valuable information to get you ready for your interview.

  • Keep in mind the importance of a professional appearance and demeanor while staying relaxed and smiling!
  • Always keep your answers within the context of job performance. "Tell me about yourself" means "What can you do for me?", not "What do you do for fun on Saturday night?"
  • Take 2 copies of your resume with you.
  • Send a thank-you note!

Your Recruiter
Your recruiter is your link between the client company and you. Keep your recruiter informed of any contact you have with your potential employer or if you have any questions regarding the company. Your recruiter can help you secure the right job if you keep them updated on your progress. For more information, click here: Why Use a Headhunter?
